Traffic vs non-traffic pricing

i have seen people post names wanted and have said they will pay so many months of revenue.

now, lets say you had a real nice name, but maybe wasnt brining in the best revenue- but when you posted the name for appraisal, lets say the overall number you got was a solid 2000.00- but your revenue for whatever reason was much lower (wrong parking place, not monetized right, etc)

arent you shooting yourself in the foot by selling a traffic name unless the traffic worth exceeds the value of the domain name?
