Trademark check

hello mates, am just a part time domainer I normally pick brandable domains, some at hand reg so before I go registering I goto upsto.gov to search the term I wanted reg for trade Mark check if no result found I go on registering the term since than I had no issue with trademarks.
All I wanted to know is if am doing it right only with this tool upsto.gov or do I need more research or more tools.

I think it covers only US trademarks. You should search for EU trademarks as well.

Infact, its a huge legal topic.
what i have observed from trademark infringement is
You would be fine, if its a generic word and you are not taking advantage of their trademarks.(parking showing links to TM companies).

check for availability of other extensions of that domain, if they are not available then it is more likely to be trademarked.
If it is a generic then no issues.

i bought a .com from closeouts a few weeks back that doesn't show up on any u.s. or euro database, yet sedo refused to list it stating that they have received tm complaints in the past. all other extensions are available.
put it up on afternic no problem. strange.

Hello guys, I am curious about this case. I found available handreg name with ~80M search volume in google. This is a single keyword which is a name of a company [for example Bentley compay which is (as I understand it) is named after W.O. Bentley). The keyword is also a common name for the girl originated from Italy. Could I get in trouble for owning a domain name like this?
