Hi all, Newbie here 1st post, so having read heaps of threads. Still a bit confused about the issue of Trade mark ect. Example if a company has a T mark, on say FAT HEAD, and I Reg a domain, FAT HEAD FOODS, is this issue, thanks co2. Addition to this, what if you reg in the .Mobi, .net, .us, ect, Can you have an issue, or is it open slatter, on the ext, thanks co2.

lets have "visa" as an example
- if u have a name w "visa" in it and u have a site about visa (not the credit card but the visa is given to people) thats not a problem
- those names r TM (lets say adidas) -> yes, it is issue

Better example (not to one up :) )

Apple Corp (music) and Apple Inc (computers). Both are well established registered trademarks. But they do business in different catagories. As long as they stay within theirrespective areas of use, they are able to co-exist.

So usage plays a very important part, but the key word is "usage", you have to be actively using the domain. Now, just having a domain "Fat Head Foods" and it sitting doing nothing or as a PPC or portal site does not show interest in the domain.
