at first, this name looked very promising to me, that's why I clicked on your post - As I am typing though, it is beginning to lose it's initial appeal: noone is going to compete with Tower Records (or other CD retailers for that matter), selling CD Towers (storage cabinets) will not work either that well since the domain is "backwards", all other tld's are available... However, if you have an idea and develop the site and draw some mojor visitors, then it will be a completely different ball game. Otherwise, I do not see why anyone would be very interested in this domain.
As I said in the beginning of this post, to me the initial reaction to the domain's visual appeal was very positive. towerCD.com looks great! But so did my ex-girlfriend, until I found out how useless she was...

LOL! I know that feeling.

I think Ivoy has a great point, it really did sound good initially but at second glance it doesn't seem as valuable. The name definitely implies Tower Records, but you may run into TM issues if you use this for a CD site. Not a lawyer...
