They range from self-signed SSL certificates (free) to Shared or "Chained" SSL Certs (usually cheap, seen them as low as $4.95) to full fledged SSL Certs which go from $50-100+. And even the best kind of certs have differening levels of acceptance among browsers. A one year 128-bit certificate at Verisign will run you $895/yr.
