Any thoughts on TopSSL.com as a domain? I'm planning on developing it as an SSL certificate website but I was wondering how much the domain was worth alone.

I was thinking, perhaps, mid $xx.

SSL is good but how does it relate to the word "top"?

I was thinking top as in 'best' SSL certificate.

I don't know much about them, I admit, but until now, I thought all ssl certs were "the same", as in no "best".. then again, I've never had occasion to utilize one.

In any case, best of luck! Keep those alternate domains I PMed you about in mind..

Best can equal good pricing...sheesh, didn't realize I had to include the reasons around here to be politically correct. ;)

I'd sum up best as implying best price and service for an SSL certificate because there are different companies out there providing SSL certs.

Anyways, any ideas would be greatly appreciated now that we've outlined both the denotations and connotations of the word best in the domain.

:p

All SSL certs are not created equally. They range from self-signed SSL certificates (free) to Shared or "Chained" SSL Certs (usually cheap, seen them as low as $4.95) to full fledged SSL Certs which go from $50-100+. And even the best kind of certs have differening levels of acceptance among browsers. A one year 128-bit certificate at Verisign will run you $895/yr.
