I get why some people label certain new TLDs as “useless,” but I still think 3-letter dictionary word extensions like .now, .fit, .art, .joy, or .eco have real merit.

But after decades of use, it feels natural, so natural that we don’t even think about it. That shows it’s not about whether a TLD is “officially” a word, but whether it feels right and works in practice.

Now imagine TLDs that are actual, everyday words. They come with instant meaning. You can build intuitive, human-friendly phrases like:

• book.now
• stay.fit
• make.art
• live.joy

They’re short, brandable and often make more sense in context than trying to squeeze your idea into a random .com that’s either taken or costs hundreds of thousands (from end-user point of view).

Sure, not every 3-letter dictionary word TLD will become mainstream, adoption depends on pricing, marketing, and real-world usage. But calling them all “useless” misses the point. In the right hands, and for the right brand or project, they can be sharp, memorable, and even more expressive than a .com with a hyphen or three extra syllables.

Just my two cents, but I’d rather bet on a meaningful three-letter tld word than a meaningless three-letter tld acronym any day.

I know my take kind of went off, but I just couldn’t let 3-letter dictionary TLDs get dunked on without tossing in a little dramatic defense.
