The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
To the people who responded sarcastically, please consider that the OP could be very new to the domain industry, and also that sarcasm does not carry-over very well in written form.

We all started out with some bonehead registrations, so let's be a decent and welcoming community by helping newcomers out with good advice. Yes, it might seem obvious to us, but that wasn't always the case.

Great name.

You should email the CEO, Ted Sarandos, every day, until he or his legal team responds. I would tell them $500,000 USD minimum, if they want this gem. And, don't back down from your ask, no matter what.

I would immediately renew this name for the maximum 10 years - shows goodwill on your part when Netflix responds to your emails.

Good luck.

I am not sure if you are being sarcastic or just giving some of the most asinine advice I have ever seen.

The fact you disagreed with my post makes me think the latter.

TM issue, and a terrible domain on top of that.

Too long with no way to monetize it. TM issues aside, no one would pay a premium for this type of domain.

Some people like me have never been on forums, never used the search tab before. Every question that comes to a newbie makes him think that it is a very unique question. Newbies generally like to be addressed in person. It gives them confidence.

I am also a newbie, and people have been helpful here and told me "read, read, read", "learn to fish, don't ask for fish". People like Bob also post useful links in reply. And then I started searching and reading here. I made 2 successful sales last month. I am thankful to those who asked me to read.

Asking someone to read more or do more research on the subject is more helpful than pointing things out sarcastically. It also saves a lot of energy! But, it clearly does not massage the ego of some people.

Remember, what is a joke for you can be bread and butter for others.

Just another newbie's perspective

@bmugford started out as sarcasm now just straight annoying
being sarcastic and misleading to the new guy is high school antics.

Is it sarcasm if the guy is going around disliking and disagreeing with posts pointing out the obvious TM issue?

Brad
True. Perhaps some folks should refrain from giving advice until they've studied a bit more.

@loredan honest mistake that happens everyday doesn't justify the HAHA your dumb sarcastic replies
making fun of people to make yourself feel better is what children do tbh

I tend to reserve the sarcasm, parody, and mockery for later on when you try to help and get push back from know-it-alls that actually don't know anything.

I try to be more helpful to start with.

Don't listen to him, you will get yourself into troubles. By having Netflix in your domain, you are infringing their rights and you will be only waking up the bear.

These kind of misleading advices should not be tolerated.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe's_law

Poe's law is an adage of Internet culture stating that, without a clear indicator of the author's intent, it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views so obviously exaggerated that it cannot be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of the views being parodied.

There has been so much info already geared towards pointing these scenarios in the right direction, it would be heart-warming to see an OP start one that said "Hey- I did some research here on NP and thanks to you guys I know what NOT to do!"..

I do agree... I just think there's a nicer way of telling them this (i.e. the way you just said it).

That's why reading and studying first makes miracles imo

It took me a while to get those CEO emails. Just start emailing him. It's an easy sale - you don't need to give away 10%.

@GTBAAA, it's fricking awesomly perverted sence of humor that you have, I laughed hard. I mean, it's a bit cruel towards the newbie especially with all emails, as they might seriously take it as face value, but it's funny.
