So I was wondering if anyone taking a break from climate killer domain names (Electric Cars, Uneccessary Gadgets etc) and thinking about TEOTWAWKI domain name ideas. FloatingHouses.com etc

 

if the world ends you think people will be buying domains xD ?

 

The End Of The World As We Know It has already happened with covid, stockmarket crashes, climate change, IT. We're still here.

 

if every time the world went through a change or a tragedy struck it would be the end of the world then the world ended a long time ago i don't subscribe to the idea how everything is gonna change after the current epidemic

Sure, the electric cars like Tesla are creating a lot of junk that is not being recycled, the mabnufacturing processes are not helping the environment at all, not helping people in Africa. It's given that they offer a way forward to being climate friendly but they aren't today. There is a lot of info as to why the electric cars may not actually make a positive impact on climate change. Remember that some say that fracking is great and others are against it. Getting friendly resources and processes that replace fossil fuels is still a major problem. Fuel, resources and goods will always be a problem as populations rise out of control.

Floating houses, would be those that are built, anchored to their foundations in a way that they can float in the event of a flood. I mean that kind of thinking.

since ecars offer a way forward ,to the goal of being climate friendly, then it seems contrary to label them climate killers, in same category as fossil fuel autos.

as for floating houses, let's assume you build them out of wood.

and,
if you plan to construct them in "flood zones", then where you gonna get the wood from?

are you going to cut down trees in Africa or South America, the Amazon rain forest or Thailand and ship them elsewhere?

if they have to be shipped, then what's the carbon factor?
if trees have to be cut down, what's effect on climate in that region?

Everything in moderation so they say. I'm completely tee-total myself but have a few alcohol related domain names. The only alcohol I have is a drop of red wine when cooking Italian food. It would be a sin not to include it.

It's not too late but people are too stubborn. The economy crash would be a *great* opportunity to change how things work, but instead most everyone will set out to rebuild everything to how it looked before.

 

I think we may actually go backwards for a time, especially poorer people and economies that cannot afford green initiatives now. The emphasis will be on survival first... saving the planet is a luxury for rich people unfortunately.

I am still wondering when there was stable climate. The sky is falling. Meanwhile human plague takes over and another plague keeps that in check nature is cruel.

I've seen some very good domain names from quite a few of you guys in this thread.
Here's a challenge - instead of trying to sell them, why not develop them & make a small contribution to bettering this poor battered planet of ours?

 

If it's too late we might as well go into eco s̶u̶b̶sistence mode, or that's what I was thinking when I registered eco//sistence//.//com, as the full keyword combo was taken since 2014 by someone who saw it coming.

Yes I do. TEOTWAWKI is no excuse to stop domaining.

 

A passionate post, and fully agreed. Though, to be thorough, domain names by nature, are not truly climate friendly.

Ask a tech company how much green house emissions they are directly or indirectly responsible for. Yes. Every email we send, destroys the climate.

The Pony Express, on the other, besides the odd fart or two, was truly climate compassionate.
