One of the great things about cryptocurrencies is that every transaction can be openly tracked by everyone online. There is a site https://dappradar.com/rankings that tracks users and transactions which are recorded on some of the popular blockchains.
By looking at this chart we can see exactly how much money flowing through these applications and their user numbers.
Currently if we sort by 7 day volume the top applications are all Gambling, this is partially because gambling applications are simple to run and don't require as much complex coding or storage like other types of software.
It's also important to note that these companies will not keep all of the volume, they will only keep a portion which for many of the companies we looked into was about 1-3% of the volume.
As cryptocurrency user numbers continue to grow this domain could provide a great platform to operate a cryptocurrency casino from. As well the the name can be used to host games for many different blockchains.
How do blockchain programs work?

Basically once you setup a blockchain program (Smart contract) you don't need to worry about operating it. It exists on the blockchain and will continue to operate as long as the blockchain still exists.
