Hey guys! Yep! TODAY IS THE DAY!
Today's the day the NHL returns after a year and a half of no action. Preseason is over, the teams are ready, the coaches have drawn up the board, the GM's have spent the budget, and the fans are ready to take in all the action! :kickass:
It really is a special day; June 7th, 2004 was the last game played in which Calgary lost 2-1 to Tampa Bay as they won the Stanley Cup. Will this be a year of surprises? A year of dissapointments? A year of expectations being met?
Some are underdogs, some are favourites; will these predictions hold up through the year?
Will some ex-elite players regain the form with which they awed fans in the past? Or will they continue their decline?
All the questions and more; their answers can be found starting today and through the 82-game regular season :tu: ! Alot of changes have been made in the NHL over the past year; teams that complained that they couldn't contend because they didn't have the money to get star players have made some huge signings. Teams that had a reputation of over-paying players are now not that attractive because of the $39 million salary cap.
I can't wait till the puck drops!
It's going to be another great season :tu: !
HOCKEY IS BACK! :D
GO LEAFS GO :] !
