I wanted to start a dedicated thread for the .TO extension. It's an older extension (1995) with some decent sales.

.TO is the country-code extension (ccTLD) for the Kingdom of Tonga. The big advantage of .TO is that “to” is one of the most common words in English which makes it useful for calls-to-action, domain hacks, redirects, tools, apps, link pages, and more.

Some examples of premium .to domains:

Go.to
Link.to
Listen.to
Play.to
Move.to
Send.to
Launch.to
etc...

It is also one of the cleaner extensions visually. Short, easy to say, and works well with verbs and action-oriented brands.

Some nice public .TO sales over $10,000:

q.to — $57,500 — 2022 — Sedo
w.to — $53,000 — 2012 — Sedo
k.to — $40,000 — 2012 — Sedo
music.to — $38,887 — 2018 — Sedo
links.to — $30,000 — 2021 — Sedo
play.to — $29,925 — 2010 — Sedo
launch.to — $25,000 — 2025 — Private
compare.to — $23,441 — 2013 — Sedo
1.to — $20,000 — 2019 — Park.io
vo.to — $17,988 — 2025 — TOP.DOMAINS
d.to — $17,250 — 2022 — Park.io
connect.to — $16,500 — 2012 — Sedo
movie.to — $15,600 — 2013 — Sedo
movies.to — $14,110 — 2015 — Sedo
eth.to — $13,199 — 2024 — Park.io
stream.to — $13,050 — 2021 — Park.io
u.to — $13,000 — 2010 — Sedo
e.to — $12,600 — 2022 — Register.TO
invite.to — $12,350 — 2021 — Park.io
date.to — $12,335 — 2021 — Register.TO
alternative.to — $11,100 — 2019 — Park.io
xn--yp8h.to — $10,108 — 2022 — Register.TO
jump.to — $10,099 — 2024 — Park.io
xn--6r8h.to — $10,001 — 2022 — Register.TO
time.to — $10,000 — 2017 — Park.io
cloud.to — $10,000 — 2013 — Sedo
call.to — $10,000 — 2011 — Sedo

Of course, .TO is still a niche extension compared to .COM, and renewal costs are about on the pricier side around $60/year. But the extension has some unique strengths that many other alternatives do not have, especially because “to” naturally completes phrases.

Please share your .TO names, sales, offers, acquisitions, opinions, and any developed .TO sites you’ve seen.

Do you think .TO has underrated potential, or is it too niche for most domain investors?

Nice! Thanks for sharing...

This .to ccTLD analysis from Oct 2025 might still have some good tid-bits to stack with the research you shared: https://www.namepros.com/threads/to-tonga-cctld-country-code-top-level-domain.1366662/

Excellent compilation of information regarding .to, I search the forum and surprising there hasn't been much discussion in the investor community about it. I seemed to have missed your thread.

The number of registrations are clearly on the decline, down to 68,611 from 225,000 in 2020 according to your post. At 68000 registrations, there's definitely some gems out there.

With a 2 letter extension, there's also a possible of a niche emerging in the future, however at the moment the acronym meanings are not super impressive.

I was going to see if there was more recent data on registrations, but even DNS.Coffee TLD Zone Files doesn't have any records for the .to extension, which is unfortunate, since they usually have everything. They've been the most accurate and updated I've seen so far.

Unfortunately, there still isn't any official counts published, just a lot of guestimates for today's .to registration count. Without that metric to add to the rest, it makes it a little trickier to see the crashes and spikes in real time. (Some people like to crash and spike follow to try and identify ending and starting trends in specific TLD's, which most times, is just new registration promotions for a buck or two, driving the spike)

Maybe someone else has found a reliable source for .to ccTLD zone file data?

I saw @Future Sensors earlier today, over in the General Domain Discussion isle leaning against the wall having casual conversation and figured I would tag them here to see if they might know where reliable .to ccTLD registration data might be. :)
