Although one's intentions usually don't come to play regarding legality in TM issues, my thinking and projection for NanoIntel.com was/is to use as a masthead site for the sale of "nano names" and for general info and news about nano related topics, in other words, I was thinking of "intel" as an abrev for "intelligence".

Any thoughts about the potential for trademark issues/infringements here?

Intel has been a popular term (especially in military etc ...) For quite a while -

IMO - I'd think that as long as there is no kind of reference or close link between the two businesses You would be alright

- But I've seen some crazy decisions as well .....

It may seem like bowing down to the big guy - But could you contact them with a basic plan of Site for their opinion ?

Just a thought -

"intel" is widely used as an abreviation for "intelligence", so I don't think you should have any problems with that one, as long as you stay away from mentioning Intel computers/processors on the site..
