GENERALLY, eu domains will NOT be a success imho. Because of the language gap, most eu countries have diffrent languages, makes no sense to introduce .eu if all countries have their own cctld.
The choice is huge, alot of other tld's availible and being introduced. The .eu will be "just another new cctld with no real direct market!" you have to generalize .eu domains like .com etc.
I think there is only little value in some good keywords like webhosting.eu domains.eu webdesign.eu casino.eu lottery.eu that have actual markets in the extension they stand for. Other than that having a .eu or a .sk or .sc is all the same.
