after living in texas all my life, I am looking to spread my wings and relocate, I have now cut my desired locations to two, Southern california- most probable , orange county , outside San Diego, The other choice is Colorado,Most likely Aspen, I have found excellent properties at both places, Much more expensive is the housing in both these places than in texas, I have sold off all my land to fund my housing, now it's time to make that move, the problem is, I can't make up my mind, so where better to turn than to my good friends at NP's , Where should old -X- live out the rest of his days?-lol

Come join me in CA. On the other hand, I spent a month at camp in CO and it sure is beautiful. The air is cleaner up there, but we got the upperhand when it comes to weather and overall "coolness."

definatly peaches, i wont know what to think about not having to run an air conditioner very often, indeed, that colorado mountain air is nice to breath, the thing i like about cali is, you can go to the beach or throw you a boat in the bay and enjoy, while you can still find snow in the mountains in cali.

Jersey is a super cool place, but i have made the two choices, now it's just a matter of which one.

As bad as I hate to see you move further away from N.C. - I'm setting here watching and listening to "Led Zeppelin - Going To California" on youtube ...

I think it's a sign Bro ;)

I lived in Colorado and couldn't of loved it any better. It's absolutely beautiful and nothing like the fresh mountain air and hopping in the car for a day and going to Rocky Mountain National Park to see all of the wildlife, etc. Colorado is by far my favorite state and I'd move back in a heartbeat, but for now it's best to be closer to the family.

But either California or Colorado is a great place and can't go wrong with either choice. You have to do what you want and decide where's the best place for your family. I know it has to be a tough choice trying to decide between the beautiful Rockies and the nice warm beach.

I wish you all the very best with the move and hopefully -X- Jr. is doing great, John! :)

Moving is big thing to do and has to be the right choice :) why not rent a place ini each for a month or so and see which one you like best

Voted for Cali, although I've never been to the U.S. myself. But I know I could not live without the sea being nearby (or the ocean in this case).

I voted for Colorado, as that's what I would probably choose due to the environment there. Can't beat the fresh mountain air and the beautiful scenery!

On the other hand, California is, as you said, close to the ocean, etc, and San Diego is beautiful as well. However, I personally would rather live somewhere less populated than CA.

Good luck with whatever state you choose! If you could rent a place for a month at both places to give each a try, that would be a great choice.

Never been to the eastern part of America, just New York, North Carolina, and Florida.

I voted Cali because I'm a fan of surfing.

I'd say it depends on your likes/dislikes hobbies, closeness to family etc. Do you surf, swim, hike, fish etc or ski? I've been through Colorado a few times, one word for it, gorgeous! My uncle lives in san diego, also gorgeous! Tough call for you.

I know if I could move right now, I'd be in either the florida keys, pocono mountains of P.a, or the mountains of North Carolina, so so beautiful!

Then again, depending on what part of California you move to, you can swim in the ocean in the morning and go skiing in the afternoon. The best of both worlds. I just happen to love the change of seasons here in P.a.

Come to think of it, I dont know where the hell I'd move, tough question for sure :-/ B-)

Like HasRob said, I think it really depends more on your interests than anything else. Both California and Colorado are incredible states, and in the end, I don't think you are going to go wrong with either location. I think the slight edge has to go to California though, because of the ocean, and the better social life (there are tons of conferences held in California).

For Southern California you should check out the Belmont Shore
area in Long Beach, Topanga Canyon Boulevard near Malibu,
Laguna Beach and Newport Beach.

I would think of living in Aspen as being on vacation everyday of your life. So I voted Colorado.

I've never been to So. Cal. but I absolutely love Colorado. My father named me after the city out there for a reason.

Either way, best of luck and happiness with your choice, -X-!

everything is leaning toward cali at the moment, The housing prices are nearly three times the cost for the same square footage house here, but the jobs pay much more aswell, properties sell very fast in both places, i laid an offer down on a house in aspen, the sellers refused, i have three houses i am considering in cali, One other property in aspen.

I voted California, from what I've heard, it's a really pleasant place to live and good weather.

You should consider moving to Australia, it's nice here too ;)

Best of luck to wherever you choose :)

Cool, that's where I want to move if Hillary becomes President.

I voted Colorado. It's less populated, and there are probably less earthquakes. :hehe:
