Thoughts on my Website Please..

Evaluate the overall look of this site of mine please..

I would appreciate thoughts on one of my new websites. Ads...placement etc.
To many ads? Also please click on one post and note I have another ad.
Also the google ads are now showing images (as I look an ad for a treadmill) am I better off with text google ads only?

The 4 box ads on the right... remove the 2nd (the 1st text one?) The categories section is too far down the page for a user to see upon viewing the site.

else ad placement is ok, and not too excessive.. also it is a close match to your colour scheme.

Hmmm do you mean remove all the google text ads under the donate button but before the categories section..or just remove one of the google text ads and leave a couple on before the donate button.

Also I have one ad on each post (if you click post to read you can see the ad..is that overkill? Should it be a text link instead of ad)

Also on the donate button..is that something I should leave on?

I'd move the "donate" button farther away from the google ads by some means - it's close enough to look like a label for the ads and Google gets snitty about things like that.

BTW, something to keep in mind about having Adsense and affiliate programs on the same page: If someone clicks an Adsense ad it will take them off your site and you will probably lose your chance at affiliate commission for that visitor.

I did put up adsense cus I would rather get something over nothing but am I better to leave it off?

You want ads to monetize your site or to sell your products???
I think so google text ads are more better thn images
btw i like the header on your website

nice overall look, but to me the siloite of the girl laying back looks too non descript/general. Its got that "you can use it on 100 sites look"

I like your ad placement, its not shoved down ones throat, which i think is the way to go

Some honest suggestions

Try a new color scheme
Compress the width of the content column, it should be in ratio with the content
Try a smaller star before the headings, perhaps a bit in line with the text size.


Ad placement is overall good and effective.

I see you made a few changes ...

To me, the ads overwhelm the content and your newsletter signup box is getting lost. I prefer to sell with my content and keep banner ads to a minimum, but that's me. If it works for you that way, great - if not, don't be afraid to change things up and experiment.

One important thing I missed the first time I looked - Privacy policy!!! If you run adsense you're required to have one. Lots of people are unaware of this, including a rather high-profile minisite building service. As far as I know, Google hasn't taken any major action towards violators yet, but the point is they COULD.

Having a visible privacy policy will also help get newsletter signups.

The privacy policy is for your entire site and necessary if you run Adsense. Since you have a newsletter, it should include a paragraph about that (reassuring people you're not selling their email addresses to some spammer - I'm assuming you're not ! ).

I like the color scheme..it will appeal to my target market I think. I agree the stars should be smaller, however, I dont understand code, so they will stay for now.

Enly thanks for the heads up on the privacy policy. I found an instant privacy policy generator and added it to all my sites. You are so helpful!

Now in everyones opinion..should I have or not have adsense on the page. Am I losing a sale with it..then again am I losing a click without it? Would you put it on?
