Hi
I'm creating an online service that indexes all of your social media posts, emails, and contacts and lets you search through all of it in one place. I thought the name Crawl was clever because it acts as a web crawler.
When I went to register the domain, every common extension was taken (as expected). I contacted the people who own the .com / .net extensions, and they wanted $100k+. I then started looking at other extensions, such as .info. I contacted some guy in India, and he said he would sell it to me for $250. I asked him if I could trade it for my .fm extension, and he said his company does not collect fm's.
Because all the regular extensions were taken except for FM, are FM's really that bad? Am I better off paying another $250 for the .info instead? FWIW, there was a similar service years ago (ping.fm) that was sold to my main competitor.
Thanks
