Thesis Theme Customization. Please Review

This is my first customization of the Thesis theme (from DIYThemes.com). If you didn't know, Thesis is one of the most popular wordpress themes and is really, really customizable.

Anyway. I've used it on Rappers.org with a few customizations. I'm not too handy with CSS, but tell me what you think about it.

I'm really getting the hang of development though. I think getting a good, professional theme is really important to a good looking website. My previous few blogs, which used free themes, just didn't either monetize as well, or had other design issues.

Very nice job at getting totally away from the standard Thesis install. I see some things there I need to figure out for my Thesis sites such as the way you placed the site map in the footer.

Thanks mhdoc. I didn't really put the site map in the footer, just the disclaimer and the privacy statement. Google, supposedly, won't rank your site well if you're missing these two pages.

Ok, first off -- Thesis is a nice theme. Second, you did a good job making some customizations.

I am using FF with a resolution of 1024x600

The top banner breaks out of its div. Maybe this is due to my resolution, and the width of the site is not fixed. Because it is fluid the site fluctuates with my resolution but the banner does not. Need to get that fixed because it looks tacky and unprofessional.

Your logo looks grungy. It is not pixelated, but at the same time it is not smooth.

The fav icon looks good.

Over all good design.

Oh, and if you are messing with the css and xhtml of the template, then you might want to check it's validation. I did not do this, but it is something you can easily do.

Hello, not a bad design.

Pos:
-nice and simple
-good navigation
-user-friendly

Neg:
-advertisement in the header goes of the page.

The banner is really the only let down with this design.Good work.

I cant add anything more than what everyone has said here already other than that you're colour scheme, in my opinion, doesnt really appeal to your target audience. I'm into alittle rap and I would expect a dark theme rather than pink/ish :p

Puranjay, like a user rightly pointed out....for a site about "Rappers" - I would go with a darkish/metallic/grunge theme.

However, not a bad attempt - most of what I wanted to say about your site has already been said above :hehe:.

I'll fix the top banner. Maybe even remove it.

The logo was made using a logo making software, so that can be fixed pretty quickly.

Perhaps I'll try doing a darker theme. With Thesis, its pretty easy to change colors on the fly, so that shouldn't be too difficult.

By this time next day, I should have a better model up.

I know. This one, I made myself. Will have to get one professionally designed.

Know any good designers that'll do a logo for cheap?
