The first night of TRAFFIC is in the books - unless you got an invite to a private party :|

The cocktail party/reception and food was fantastic! The auction was, well, slooow. There were some unbelievably low sale prices, I didn't get them all but here is a sampling...

DirtyJokes.net $100 sold
Feels.com $500 sold
CommonStock.com $2,500 sold
FrozenDaiquiri.com $900 sold
Beef.net $2,750 sold
Staffed.com $1,200 sold
Absent.com $1,600 sold
Men.org $12,500 sold (I believe the high sale of the auction)
CD.com no sale at $150,000 bid
StenoPads.com $600 sold
SeafoodRestaurant.com $3,500 sold

We will see what tomorrow brings...

Beef.net and CommonStock.com were amazing values IMHO.
I think the economy is taking its toll...

Give us a feel of the auction. Was it lack of buyers, people nervous about investing more with the market the way it is. Whats your impression of why?

These prices seem a little low.

IMO, the sold names earn minimal revenue considering the PPC. Developing these names are not worth it.

So people are liquidating such names.

Wow you can say that again!

Yep, I don't feel those prices are too low. All those domains need some type of development.

I think they are pretty low, shows us where the market is today.

I think a lot of the big players are sitting on their hands, I saw very few of them bidding. My sense is that they are in a wait and see mode - they have big portfolios, big renewal bills and PPC revenue is down. They are feeling a little to full to be adding to their portfolio's. This is just my sense - no hard data to back it up.

I made an announcement about my new name on my blog.

If I go to snapnames.com to look at the TRAFFIC NY auction results so far, it lists 2415 names, with over 600 names with bids, and many going for (what I consider) amounts that are way too high.
Does anyone else see this, or am I missing something?

Noticed it as well, but you can bid under the reserve price, there are names with a reserve of over $100,000 having only a $60 bid :)

Yea, I knew it. Like I mentioned in the previous post.

Anyone know of a way to view the live auction without downloading the SnapNames software. They've had live video feeds in the past, but I can't seem to find it.
