Hey guys,

I received this dodgy email from a guy today. He said he was CEO of some company he started which 'invests' in domain names.

He asked if i was interested in selling and I told him no. I have not had the domain name listed or anything, so i am not sure how he found it.

He told me -- quote "Can you accept 5000USD" For the domain name only.

He offered to pay through escrow if I wanted. And then he told me he would like me to get the domain appraised first and gave me a list of places to do so.

I told him "I would consider getting the domain name appraised, which of the services would you like me to use from the list you gave me?"


Then it started to get a little strange. Even though I told him I would do this, he replied as if I refused. He sent me a big email telling me why I should have the domain appraised and why it is absolutely necessary etc. I sent an email back saying "I think you misunderstood me, I will do it" And he sent me the same email as he did before...

I just get a funny feeling about this guy...

So I thought it best to get a rough ballpark figure from everyone else.

Is "ResearchAppraisals" dotcom legit?

Thoughts on price?

They are affiliated with the appraisal company and they benefit from you paying for an appraisal

Just ignore it.

Thought so, surprised anyone would go to that much effort to do that... But I suppose.
