Do any other one plan to invest heavily in the market in the near future? This market plunge has created so many insanely cheap quality stocks that I have little doubt I can put some money into them now, wait 20 years, and retire before I'm 50.

At some point the market will bottom out, most seem to think its not far away now!!!

As ever with the markets and investing in it, it will always run the risk or high gains and losing all those gains :(

But like myself my pension is linked to the markets!!!! I know that when it comes to me retiring or winning the lotto or selling vodka.in for a very large amount :) my pension will grow at a steady pace :)

Warren Buffett is buying but he is a long-term investor and has very deep pockets so can afford to wait 20 years (by which time he will be 96). Bear in mind also that he was buying when the DOW was at 8200 but stopped when the DOW rebounded. He is also extremely good at analyzing companies to see which are undervalued, he isn't buying stuff just because it's dropped 50% he really does go through the company reports and accounts.
Personally I think the markets have a bit further to drop next week, but as you say this could be the time to be getting in, you just need to be very careful about what it is you buy.

Now is the time to buy, no question. Best strategy is cherry pick battered down stocks one by one, day by day, week by week.

No point diving all in at once. Each day throws up a new bargain or bargains from what im seeing. You still have to do good research before buying though.

I think if you're buying to get a good average return over the next 5 years, divide your available money up into about 10 equal portions and look for good stocks that have a dividend of about 5%. Buy at least 5 different stocks in different sectors. Buy about once a week over the next couple months on dips and maybe sell if they go up, with intention to buy back at lower prices....or you could just buy in slowly and keep your money all invested without doing any trading but I think stocks will be going up and down for quite awhile. ....do some research first.

I'm not doing the above and am a complete beginner, trying to trade the market but losing a lot. However I'm still optimistic and learning....will be back at it in less than 7 hours when the market opens.
