It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it.

I can't imagine buying any other .pro, though.

The ones that designate an actual profession are pretty much gone.

Will this new openness help the extension?

I dunno.

.Pro is certainly more professional than .guru, but .pro's time may have passed.

Yep, I was one of those that missed the boat on .pro its actually a lot easier to remember and more marketable. And as pointed out earlier, less self absorbed then "guru"

Lots of good domains left in .pro, you just have to do the legwork.

Yes, it looks like the restrictions have been lifted, BUT not all registrars have gotten the message yet.

I tried registering mine at Domainmonster and they were still asking for credentials, so I then went to Dynadot and was able to register it there without a problem...

Except that there was a delay of about an hour before the domain migrated to my account.
