It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

Really? :lala:

Yeah... All the drops were listed, and I remember fishing in there for a few gems.

Of course, I can't find the damn bookmark.

But this one just tracks all the Encirca .pro drops that will be happening next month, not for all .pro registrars... :gl:

Picked up herbal dot pro

Overlooked it in the past... not going to make the same mistake again.

This one is for the dev lot :)

That's a great snag!

I owned that one.
Yes I know, I looked it up.

You have some other nice ones too though. :tu:

Some .pro's that I have are meaningless w/o development, why I specified this is for dev - I already have a few customers selling Herbal Supplements.

Are there any .pro renewal deals going on? Transfer deals?

EnCirca Nameservers

.
I know that this has been discussed before but can someone refresh my memory please? Is there any way around changing nameservers One-At-A-Time on EnCirca? Can I make a wholesale change?

I have a feeling that I'm not going to like the answer.

Thanks fellers!

I haven't found a way. I'm glad to hear there are others developing .pro's.
I've been working on the following:

sprint.pro
Moms.pro | supporting Working Moms Everywhere
homeequityloans.pro |
Goals.Pro | Professional Goals
ConferenceCall.pro |

From my experience having a more premium domain name helps towards achieving top placement in the search engines. I've seen other .pro's that I'm working on get first page placement., but site has to be very developed. good luck to all!

Yes they are definitely out there. Doorbell.pro seems to be doing well. And like you said, premium domain name is a major plus. Good luck to you and your pros. Charles.

Hi all. I have compiled a pretty good list of available .pro names, but I remain hesitant, primarily
due to the lack of reported .pro sales. Obviously none of us has a crystal ball to determine how
.pro will ultimately pan out, but my belief is this extension is still in the "purely speculative" stage
of its life-cycle, which is both the reason I'm interested in exploring it, and the reason for the nagging
feeling that it may turn out to be a money sink.

I realize all "investments" are speculative, but the ability to research a particular commodity's sales
history does reduce the inherent risk. So why are we not seeing .pro sales being announced? I can
only hope the answer isn't the painfully obvious one.

Ready to pull the trigger on a boatload of well-researched names, but my gut is saying more info
is needed. Thoughts?

Thanks. Actually I just did that very thing moments before you posted

The other thing that concerns me is the sheer number of expired .pro names which would be
solid gold sellers were they .com's, .net's, or .org's. That smacks of an unhealthy market to me :-/

sorry... forgot one question. It's been mentioned that all Encirca requires is for buyers to check the
"qualified" box, and that they will accept a business license to satisfy the .pro restrictions. Has anyone,
after a period of time, run into any issues with their domains being questioned as to their "validity?"

The only reason why .pro domains have little sales is because people don't know that this gTLD exists. Earlier or later they will know and then extension will explode.

I don't know anybody having any problem with .pro credentials at Encirca, but, until .pro restrictions were removed (in some months, I guess) you should have everything alright. :gl:

(from domainpeople site)

"Will I be eligible to register second-level .Pro domains (eg. mydomain.Pro) under the new registration rules? "

"All professionals and professional entities who self-certify that they meet the eligibility requirements are able to register .Pro domains. If you own a business license, you are likely to qualify! You can register if you:

โ€ข Are a person or entity who provides professional services; and
โ€ข You have been admitted to or licensed by a government certification body, or jurisdictional licensing entity recognized by a governmental body; and
โ€ข That body or licensing entity requires that its members be licensed or admitted to provide services;
and
โ€ข You are in good standing.

To determine if your business is eligible to qualify, the general idea is as follows. As long as the organization provides the service associated with its registration identification, and meets all eligibility requirements outlined in the domain registration agreement, the organization is eligible to register a second-level .Pro domain. For example, a customer's business license states that they retail running shoes will be eligible if they use the .Pro domain to sell shoes."

Okay, so how is everyone getting around the stipulations I've highlighted above in red?
Is this just legal fluff, or am I missing something here? :-/
