It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

Allergies.pro is an exceptional hand reg, imho. The domain scores a 502 on DomainScore.com. Hand regging relevant .PRO domains, with scores 500 and above at this late stage, is no easy task. Further, although I tend towards singular .PRO domains (ie. I own allergy.pro), I think you've registered the better of the two. Congrats and cheers!

I don't understand that tool. I have Ship.pro and it only scores 453..

Google Avg search for Ship:
Broad: 4,090,000
Phrase 4,090,000
Exact 90,500

Google Avg search for Allergies:
Broad 823,000
Phrase 823,000
Exact 90,500

Interesting to say the least. And yes I read the about section. IMO I think all these estimation tools suffer from some form of retardation and are subjective.

LLLLLLLLL vs LLLL?!

I'm starting to think my .pro's are worth as much as...Nevermind
DomainScore.com is far from an end-all tool. None are. At best they are aids in determining relative values. Ship.pro is a somewhat unique domain in that it works as both a noun and verb. I can imagine no computer program sophisticated enough to draw this distinction and/or value accordingly. Finally, though I was paying little attention to the auction from which you secured the domain, it was hard to ignore the vigorous pace of the bidding for this domain in particular. Ship.pro is a fine domain!

Let's report non-.PRO tld, "pro" sales

One of the key points that Andrew Campbell asserts when making the case for .PRO is the plenary use of the term pro, in business speak, if you will. On this point, in particular, I wholly agree. To this end, I am going to note relevant non-.Pro sales where I find them. I hope others will follow. Tonight's find comes from the home page of Sedo, to wit, footpro.com for $3291 USD. While this is not a .PRO sale, per se, it does beg the question as to whether the sale would have occurred but for the advent of .PRO. Notably, I own FOOT.pro. Call it self-serving if you must, but I believe a symbiotic relationship exists between the two domains that will, likewise, tend to support my efforts to sell the latter.

Ok, I busted a blood vessel or two. Maybe just some resentments (I owned that domain in the past too).

I'll own my own purchases and am responsible for them. It's not so much about the money as my own anger w/ myself. Sorry, and best wishes for the .pro proponents.

Adrian
Adrian,
You're being vague, and that's your right. But I've read enough books on success to appreciate the fact that mistakes necessarily are a component of success. Act with passion, respect and learn from your mistakes and you'll do just fine. I'm sure that you wouldn't beat on me for all the mistakes I've made, so why beat on yourself? Have a better evening!!!

Mike :)

I won't give too much on the Domainscore ranking.

Let's just do a quick test:
null.pro (which is still available): score 480

compared with two from my portfolio:
russia.pro: 484 (just 4 more?)
developer.pro: 404 ?!? Looks like 404 - Not found! :bingo:

I think this says all.

It wasn't my intension to flatter myself, nor to praise my domains. In fact, I don't understand your comment. Adrian wondered why ship.pro is scored so low, and I gave another example. What's wrong with this?

Its an automated tool. It has its limitations.

You can develop ship.pro a lot better than a lot of names and the ROI can be huge as its a high value niche which can be dominated by such a domain.

I use a lot of tools for metrics, but the ultimate test is marketability - thats where .pros really score.

I find DomainScore and Estibot very useful. I don't base .pro buying decisions on either but they are nice tools for a quick second opinion. Some of my favourite .pros don't do well on DomainScore or Estibot. For example, Studio.pro scores 458 and Salon.pro comes in even lower at 442. Estibot values Studio.pro at $450, I paid $3,000.

I like DomainScore and Estibot because they flag up what I may have missed. For example, if it wasn't for DomainScore and Estibot I probably wouldn't have bought France.pro, Italy.pro and Spain.pro. They scored very well so I did some more research and found that France, Spain, and Italy were the 1st, 2nd, and 5th most popular tourist destinations, collectively accounting for 20% of all 900m tourist visits globally in 2007 so as geos they take some beating.

DomainScore is very handy for objective ranking. For example, out of my favourite working environment .pros, Office.pro, Studio.pro and Salon.pro, they rank them 1) Office.pro, 2) Studio.pro and 3) Salon.pro which I agree with.

Out of France.pro, Spain.pro and Italy.pro, France.pro has the highest DomainScore total at 536, France is the only country of the three that is spelt the same locally and internationally, it is 3-4 times more popular in Google indexed URL's than Spain and Italy, and has 40% more visitors per annum than Spain and 85% more than Italy so the ranking is accurate.

Ship.pro is interesting, I bought Boat.pro from Vincent but I left Ship.pro in port. I figured people might buy a boat online but a ship implies something b2b rather than b2c and I wasn't convinced it would work. If somebody could make it work, there is a huge price tag at stake. Ship.pro would also make an excellent shipping transportation business name but you need to market something like that to a specialist company rather than a domainer.

I did misunderstand your intentions. Funny thing is that we were both trying to provide Adrian with some assurance. I just got tripped up in the process. Thanks for clarifying. Cheers!

Does CFA (chartered financial analyst) certificate eligible for .pro?
thank you.

I would say yes. Chartered usually implies the organisation issuing the license has government approval.

However, I think i'll limit my purchases to ship.pro and pioneer.pro for now.
An extremely wise move.

I almost got Happy.pro the other day, but AKC beat me to it with his $10 winning bid. That would have been a deal. If other deals like that pass my way, I might jump but I'm hunkering down now.

Things could get a lot worse before they get better. I'm sticking with blue chips for now.

Happy.pro for $10 was a steal. Happy.info has 22 bids on Sedo. Happy.pl has 10 bids. HappyLife.ch is at Sedo auction for 70 Euros. iHappy.net sold for $1,111. BeHappy.com sold for $13,000 and the .co.uk sold for $9,250. I bought Happy.pro to develop but it would be a good site name for a psychiatrist or happiness in the workplace advisor.
