It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

Congratulations on Scuba.pro, that's a very good buy. I was disappointed Ben added a BIN when I was the highest bidder in a no bids after 48 hours auction but that's how it goes. I added Gallery.pro, Lotto.pro, Tool.pro, and Success.pro.

Scuba is a great buy, definitely a category killer and as soggyindo pointed out it can be used for travel, tutorial videos, equipment, etc.

Thanks guys and sorry Andrew but I couldn't resist after he added the BINs. On the bright side, I love Gallery.pro and Tool.pro, excellent names! :gn:

Licensed real estate agent, I've heard of people using their driver's license number and the state DMV as the licensing authority, not sure how well that worked though.

Affordable CMS webmasters/designers please PM me for immediate development work. Paying a set fee per website is not cost effective given the number of sites that must be developed, so I'm looking for a simple "turn key" fill-in-the-blanks template based CMS that offers the following features: banner ads, text ads, affiliate programs, video, RSS & user generated content options. Also, the CMS must have the capability to add online store and/or drop-shipping module in the future.

Or if you can refer me to webmasters/designers that fit the bill, that would be greatly appreciated!

Its a shame that craptensions like .tel are being offered on major registrars like moniker, etc. and not .pro. :|

Telnic really is trying hard to promote .Tel. They certainly have had the private financing to launch it and it seems like they have the financing to promote it. Have seen articles on marketwatch and NYT already. Not sure about .Pro's launch since I am quite late on that. But it doesn't seem like Registrypro is trying very hard to de-regulate and promote at all.

Just registered pleasure.pro.

Your opinion on this one!

tel is so old school. I'm done commenting on every new extension though. Please regurgitate my .asia article for most of these new launches. The cycle doesn't change, nor do the players, nor the profiteers.

Forget .asia, even the much hyped .me's current reseller value can be seen in the ccTLD forum. Don't get me wrong, I like .me, but aftermarket sales beyond the initial hyped auctions is negligible.

I think the lack of .pro-motion for .pro or a standard 'auction' for premiums and the whole shenanigan, actually adds credibility to the extension. Add to the that a whole lot of brand value and age.

I don't think lack of promotion adds to credibility. RegistryPro did nothing to promote .pro for 4 years and it made no progress. It has made progress since the relaunch in September by cutting reg fees, removing restrictions, and getting .pro offered by more registrars.

To make further progress, RegistryPro need to cut reg fees further, get rid of the professional license restriction and focus on professional use instead, and ensure .pro is available through all major registrars.

RegistryPro should roll out a billboard marketing campaign that set outs what .pro is about. They obviously can't afford many billboards so they would have to be strategically placed; opposite ICANN, Verisign or Godaddy's headquarters, or somewhere that ties in with the content.

For example, I would have a billboard split in two vertically, on one side it would have a picture of an overweight businessman in a gaudy 80s golf outfit missing a putt, on the other side it would have a picture of a professional golfer holding a trophy up. Underneath the pro golfer would be the slogan "Go .Pro".
