It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

What's your opinion on certificates.pro?
Thanks.

Well, coincidences may happen! :gn:

That domain had been at my list from some months ago, but I was not registering more .pro until prices fall and I would pretty sure that this extension will be the best alternative to .com.

By the way... I picked terror.pro, so please don't hesitate in to tell me if you want to buy or to trade it. ;)

It seems more people have joined the .PRO band wagon. :D

Terrorism.pro would have made a better choice, IMO but still it could be a useful blog for global terror attacks... unless you have other plans for it? ;)

Actually, I have been registering .pro from about 2 years ago... I own some premium ones, like Yoga.pro or Tarot.pro. In fact, I sold a .pro for $7000 last week on a private sale...

I like short names and I understand "terror" as "high fear", so I didn't think in Terrorism at all...

That's awesome. Pretty sure .Pro will be huge in the coming years. I'm still young will be in it for the long run. =]

Now RegistryPro can see how big a difference a reg fee cut, lighter restrictions, and just one big registrar selling .pro can make, I hope they aim for price parity with .com, no restrictions, and every big registrar offering it.

Can you give us any details on your sale? I understand if the buyer wants the name to remain private, but I'd be curious to know how the sale came about and what general industry or category the name falls under. Congrats and thanks for any info you can share.

I am sorry, but I am not sure about if I can make public the sale... :gl:

I was contacted by a final professional and the trade was made using Escrow.com...

Totally agree: This will not be just air like .mobi, .asia, .me, etc. :p

PRO is memorable, international and with charm.

An almost virgin extension for having a brand and doing a great SEO work.

I definetely love .pro and I am not alone:

Thanks for that link terol. Wasn't aware there were that many developed .Pro sites.

There aren't that many developed .pros, by the second page of that link you are into parked sites. There are probably 100-150 .pro sites developed. However, if you look at the number of indexed pages per .pro registered, .pro does well against other new extensions like .me and .asia.

Yep, noticed that after page 2 lol. Glad to see there are end-user sites, lawyers, consultants etc.

After two false starts - one partnership for a .pro which fell through and another in which buyer wanted all my names and then couldn't pay...

I finally have something to talk about viz. .pro - see my sig for more info ;)

Sadly its one of my top three development names, but times are tough and bills need to be paid. :tu:

Thanks, personally I could have monetized it for x,xxx per month, just that life takes funny turns.

Left to my own views on it, I wouldn't have sold it for less than xx,xxx - but thems the breaks.

I've been liking the current regs being posted but having been around .pro for a bit, i still think a lot of them are not what i would personally register.

Joomla! is a US trademark, registration number 3479210, it was filed 5 months before you registered the domain on 9 July 2007, published for opposition on 20 May 08, and registered on 5 Aug 08.

There are four positives for .pro here;

1) Another Sedo .pro sale.

2) Somebody is willing to gamble 600 Euros on a .pro that they could lose if the trademark registrant Open Media Source Inc filed a UDRP claim.

3) Open Source Matters Inc might be the bidder which could mean another developed .pro site.

4) If Open Source Media Inc is the bidder, .pro is on the radar of new trademark registrants and that might reflect an upswing in defensive registrations post-relaunch. They already own the .com, .net and .org.

I guess you have to check if names actually change hands following a Sedo auction to verify a sale. The majority do, only a few don't.
