It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it.

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Samit, I have a question for you. How do you get traffic to your .pro minisites, how many visits do you get per day, how many of those visits convert to clicks, and where are you rank on search engines for your keywords?

I have developed 1 minisite, it was a generic two word 1998 regged .com that I paid $3,000 for, I did 2 hours of work on it, and got to the front page of Google for a short time before falling back page 2. While I was on the front page I was getting 15-20 hits a day which would convert to about 1-2 clicks worth from 10 cents to about $1.20.

oled .pro is getting about 3-10 hits/day, and very little adsense. I am still working on it here and there in my minimal spare time. Need to work on videos page, archive page and have a couple of other ideas as well. Still tuning the adsense. Have had zero luck on any site with Amazon affiliate products so I'm just pulling those and focusing on adsense now.

OLED.pro is buried on Google, and not sure how it gets as much traffic as it does.

Guys, I am not a domainer, but a pro owner. I dont see anything at all wrong with dot pro. We use the extension in our corporate name.

Its basically the website address with the dot . Keyword Pro LLC.


We get over 8000 uniques per month, and are 1st for many search queries.

While my nonprofit dot pro site struggles for attention on Google, it is on the first page on Bing for the very broad industry search term "nonprofit" (219,000,000 results). Bing appears to like developed keywords and with the search agreement today with Yahoo, Bing will have about 30% of search volume in the near future (Google is about 65%). That is a lot of eyes even without Google.

That is absolutely fantastic news and congratulations. I would love to see other other posts that show success similar to nonprofit.pro This is pretty big news and hopefully will help advance the conversation on this thread. Any one else?

Thanks Samit. Whenever possible I try for quality over quantity and hope that a few domains payoff in the end if an extension experiences growth.

DomainPeople - From now until January 1, 2010, each year of registration, each year of renewal and all transfers are $19.95.

Was anybody able to transfer domains to encirca or domainpeople? I've tried transferring to Domainpeople and encirca but I never got the emails from registry/transfer-out registrar to approve the transfers...
