It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it.

Totally agree with you. Their marketing promotion failed like the .pro domain reg. They should hire a marketing expert, no kidding!

I have few .pros and want to develop it as I'm a pro web designer and submit to next contest but hope that they will have one in future.

If you were professionally qualified and happen to work for the government, you can register a .pro. If you just work for the government, you don't qualify.

Being professionally qualified means you are licenced by a government approved authority. You have probably passed exams at some point, you have letters after your name and a license number, you pay an annual fee to your licensing authority, and you need to be in good standing with your licensing authority to do your job.

Very nice! I have passed those civil service exams! im not pretty sure with licenses though i only worked with them for two months and the goverment here cant even give me my tax id! :P

UK only I believe. You have to put in a UK mobile at one point in the account opening process and they send you a code that you have to type in.

Yep, they have site for all European countries, nothing for USA.

Any other registrar worth transferring .PROs to other than the $29 and $39 renewal murder at some?

Recent sale and tip

This past Thursday, I completed escrow on a modest sale, to wit, Moscow.pro for 470 US. The sale was handled by Afternic.

Also, in an unrelated event, I received an offer on Sedo today in regards to Immobilier.pro, in the amount of 400 EU. If you are a regular reader of this thread, you may recall my recent reference to this listing as a source of some frustration. Today's offer brings the total received up to 24, none of which have been even marginally suitable.

My reply to number 24 was to ratchet the asking price up to 100,000 EU ( arguably, no more absurd than the lowball bid I received), coupled with the following comments, which I hope may prove useful to others under like circumstances:

"Immobilier.pro affords entry into each and every property market within France, including the wealth lined villes of the Riviera, Paris, and Quebec, Canada. Further, the .Pro extension, although still relatively unknown, is nonetheless a global tld, thus enjoying international recognition by Google and the like. Extension nexus is outstanding. Finally, Immobiler.pro is the very apitamy of the term, "keyword rich", thus offering a SEO gold mine of sorts. That being said, coupled with the level of interest shown in the domain as expressed by the number of previous offers, how, if placed in my shoes, might you respond to an offer of 400 EU? Kindly re-bid in accordance with the foregoing for serious price and other consideration. Thank you for your time and attention. "

Samit, you have an unbelievable confidence in .pro! I would eat my hat if this sold. You have friends in high places to get this included in the auction.

Actually all it takes to list a lot in the auction is 250np$ and for this one it should be less than 5 letters, no friends in high places required.

Dude, Immobilier is a french word. In the domain name french market, there is only 1 domain which has been sold officialy that price. It was "auto.fr" which can be translated as "car.com"

Estimer la valeur de Auto.fr appraised 110 000$

Estimer la valeur de Immobilier.pro appraised 7000$

Moreover, immobilier (real estate) is in a big crisys.

According to namebio, there is not even one pure french word .pro (like immobilier) domain sold in .pro history

whould you really expect the buyer to say, "ho great deal, a french .pro for 100 000€, i surelly take it" ?
