Hi
..to build on the importance of the mobile phone internet experience
Implications of the PDA experience:
Here are some additional things I noticed about my year old PDA (TREO 700W) that I would like to share with you:
1.) When you type in a domain, or word, that you have typed in before.. you only have to type in the first three letters before a drop down shows where you can just select the whole phrase..
For example, if I type in "W-O-R".. then the whole "worldradio.mobi" shows up as an option to select!
(less concern about long domain names/extensions, more concern about the need for a compelling site that drives returning visitors)
2.) The qwerty keyboard is EASY! Some might even be faster on it than the PC keyboard.. the buttons are kinda perky that just fit to your fingertips' touch.. (numbers' domains are becoming less important, but are still universal language on phones for countries, like China, and other cultures)
3.) You can set up email on the phone, so it functions just like text messaging but without the price
4.) Bookmarking phenomenon is true, but not everything.. people bookmark your site especially if you have compelling content that creates an incentive for driving return visitors (music is hot now, video will be hot later)
5.) You do hop links more, my phone has a button for "going back" (since there is only one browser window) and a button for Favorites.
6.) You do surf existing dot com sites with scrollbars! I am thankful that I can get the full version .com site, like Namepros, on my PDA but with scrollbars. It might suck if the .com force redirects you to a lesser mobile version of the site with a PDA device detect.. (Try "2 clicking" to get to Google Adwords on Google.com with your PDA, like you can do on Google.com on a PC - you can't!)
Solution - do the device detect and appropriate site rendering on the .mobi. Keep the existing .com information preserved for emerging PDA's that need to access the full content version features "on the go".. (I mentioned this earlier, but it's an important point people will see more when they get their latest PDA)
7.) You bring that baby with you everywhere (Internet)!
8.) My PDA also shoots video, imagine in the future every phone being able to stream live video onto a domain name anytime, anywhere for anyone to see..
This leads me to my final statement, in that buying an advanced PDA asap can lead you to better dot mobi drafting as the treasure chest is closing.. one can see the trends faster.. and also spur the idea on what development project hope to raise.

Kind Regards,
Yelo
