Should be helpful info for those interested in buying numerical domains to resell to the Chinese market

So 58 would be bad right? (since it means "not rich").

Also, as I know, in Cantonese Chinese, 7 ("chat," can sound like ridiculous/stupid) and 9 (gau, can mean something like really stupid, i.e. on9) can also be bad? Both are used as foul language in Hong Kong. Not sure how they work in Mandarin though, and how they are perceived in domain URLs.

just like "9" . "9" can be also pronounced as "狗" in chinese ,"狗" means "Dog" in english . "Dog" is not a good word in chinese , someone like to use this for curse . eg. u are a dog

example, the biggest domain marketplace in China is 4.cn.
4 is obviously not so unlucky because it has the top site.

8 is "八" in chinese ,"八" pronounced as "發" in chinese ,"發" means "rich / will be rich / can get so much money"

I can also tell you the meaning of other number:
1 , 2 = "易" = easy
3 = "生" = living ,live ,real ,produce , generate
4 = "死" = Dead
5 = "唔/不" = no , not
6 = "六 , 六六無窮" = Endless
7 = no Special meaning
9 = "久" = long , eg. long time


so ,
28 = easy to be rich
38 = generate money / to be rich

so we like 2,3,6,8,9 and do not like 4 ,as it means Dead

anyhow, the domain was not allowed to go to auction as far as i know, but was moved to Enom.

it had only about 60 backorders the day before the deadline to bid but on the last day the backorders jump above 120, as it's usual, and the max bid went to $9K.

this is a blatant wrong action from Register. where are the extenuating circumstances for holding a domain name? where is even a complaint form at ICANN for this matter? no one knows, no one cares

this were sales made in the last 2 months when prices were going higher. floor price seems to be above 20k now for the worst combos (with 4)

considering that they could be fetch for $400 in 2009 and 2010, and even at the start of this year they went for $8,5k, this was probably the greatest investment of the decade.
