I think I started the first BQB.com auction ever. I'm not sure but it looks like it's up and running.

Hi mate,

Currently what's easiest to do is to go into your draft and click under "Sell Similar". This is essentially an edit of your draft -- I'm going to get the developer to change the wording to "edit draft" (along with several things mentioned throughout these pages) within a few weeks once everything has been tested.

Reece, I have a question about editing an auction. I have an auction that I saved as a draft I want to make it live, but I need to edit some text that I have written about the domain before I post the auction. I don't see an edit button, can you tell me how to do this? Thanks!

If anyone has been on BQB recently, you'll notice that I've made the "Popular Auctions" and "Ending Soon" sections much larger -- this will hopefully allow more domains to get last minute exposure + increase bidding on cheaper domains that might not have made it to the homepage otherwise.

Feel free to let me know what you think of this change and if you preferred it how it was before or not.

Any thoughts on having a bulk category for selling a large number of similar domains simultaneously?

Some people are already abusing the "rare" and "pronounceable" LLLL.com categories.

I don`t know if it was referred to one of my domains (AMKN) but I did not try to abuse.

Many people have considered a LLLL.com starting with "A" to be rare so I though it was the best category for it.

And I agree with VURG, it`s kind of suicide put these kind of categories as each name is rare, actually more than rare, there is ONLY 1 of it :)

And pronunciable: all depends from your language.

I would cut off a couple of categories there to avoid confusion.

It's hard to improve on perfection, but that sounds like a winning idea to me. I think a lot of investor's would appreciate that option as well.

Sedo? eBay? Who are they? Go BQB!

Reece,

I suggest to add the 'Endding time' column to Current Bids and Watching Items.
I've forgotten to follow up bidding for some auctions and probably the sellers ended up with a lower price than what it would have been.

Cheers.

Yes, you're definitely right -- it's in the works as we speak :)

Some fixes/add-ons coming over the next few weeks:

1 - Full compatibility with Safari/OS X (currently Safari users are reporting being unable to sell domains)
2 - Adding Ending time column to current/watching bids and to the BQB homepage, fixing the glitch with featured items being displayed on the homepage at their starting bid price, adding ending time to "Popular Auctions"
3 - Free Address Verification option (along with an icon that indicates a member is verified beside their username after having completed verification)
4 - Bulk Section

You could even put a paypal donations link on BQB.com if you wanted too, just an extra idea

Hi Reece-

Just wanted to check in. I am neither buying nor selling at this time, so I haven't applied for BQB membership, but I am following it's (rapid) progress and I wish you the best with it.

Thanks mate! :tu:

I'm just a pm/post away if you decide you'd like an account at some point in the future.

I've had quite a few people inquire recently about advertising on BQB -- that, along with options on BQB will hopefully pay for costs some point down the road.

Definitely a great thought and idea. Very clever...It can give buyers better deals because they are buying bulk, obviously. Just though I'd mention! A+ Work!

Just want to thank everyone for their suggestions and let everyone know that a Bulk Section is now up. If anyone has suggested modifications that can be made to this bulk section, please feel free to post/pm them, I'm always happy to listen :)

Hey Reece,

I did have one more question...Do you actually make any money off of BQB...I mean you have free listings, no commissions, and all this free stuff. Just wondering what type of profits were involved for you. Not that it matters, it was just something I was wondering since the first time I saw BQB :)

BQB is currently making about $50/week or so from added cost features (like highlighted/featured listings and stores).

I'm taking a fairly large loss at the moment by choice, running it on a dedicated server and having almost everything custom designed, but I think it'll be worthwhile in the future.

I'm sitting on about 70k worth of LLLL.coms at the moment, so selling them on BQB versus selling them on Sedo would save me $7000 in commission -- while BQB might not appear to be making me much it can quite possibly make me a lot of money (in saved commissions) if I can get all my future domains sold through it.

No problem at all mate :)

I've had a few people interested in advertising and am planning on putting a few banner ads on BQB in the near future which will hopefully bring costs/revenue more in line.
