AimPages.com owned by AOL, as shown in the above link, AIM Pages is the new MySpace rival, and I have no doubt it will become very popular, especially with AOL's AIM userbase.

Although the name is not official (or is it?), users profile addresses will not be aimpages/name, however aim.com/name.

I have however bought 8 common typo domain names for AimPages, as well as aimpages.biz (TM issues no doubt).

So if you want the remaining typo's or any other decent domain names to do with AOL's new site, you better get the names fast.

From a marketing point of view a name like aimpages.com sounds aimless.

MySpace... which while I find it pompous and an assault on the eyes and ears, has a name which is powerful.

"This is MySpace on the world wide web."

"Make MySpace your space on the internet."

If AOL educate their users to use backgrounds which don't drown out text or make it hard to read and not have music and video start buffering and hang your page for a while before your pc/broadband recovers and you can click on PAUSE then I think they'll have something decent, though still a long way from killing the beast.
