Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

Y is not a premium letter

I beg to differ...

When the letter "Y" is in the first position, I believe it to be almost "premium" dependent upon context (the following acronym).

Because "Y" is the first letter of "you" and "your" it can often personalize a regular acronym, or create a call-to-action.

As demonstrated by the recent sale of "Yump", or the relative success of the company Yahoo, it is also more pronounceable in this position as well. (Note that pronounceability is not a factor in the determination of "premium" letters which is really only a measure of acronym potential.)

This post is not to say that tetrapak is off by much on his evaluation of YBDR -- in fact, he may be right on the money -- but without actual investigation, and for the above reasons, I would suggest YBDR is more premium than BDYR or similar.

Yes, Y is better in the first position (and of course in the last if the domain is pronounceable, like CVCY), but in general it has less acronym potential than the premium letters. But you are right that you have to make your own investigation as each case is different.

I'm thinking of starting a no reserve auction for Bles dot com tomorrow on Sedo. What are your thoughts on it?

I think Bles is strong enough to get a nice ending price auctioned with no reserve on Sedo, but... you never know.

If you try to drum up interest on the forums and email a good number of potential endusers... you'll have no problem making a profit on it, IMO.

Well, it all depends how much I paid for it ofc (if I'll make profit or not). I'd kick myself if it would end at $1,2k-ish and I'd get the usual "Damn, I totally forgot about that auction. The buyer got a bargain!!" BS. ;) I feel Sedo lost a lot of exposure after their redesign. A year ago you could easily get 1k+ views on a listing without much promotion, now even auctions promoted on Sedo's front page during the entire auction period doesn't even get 500 views..

Can't believe they are so blind not to see their own stats, and not act quickly with a site update to fix their pathetic design. Since they redesigned it, I have to force myself to visit them.

It all seems so subjective

I used estibot today and got the following value for these domains...

10kh.com $390

DA78.com $240

Zzuh.com $610

DenverGrid.com $65

Now I know that these are just estimations, but it seems weird to me that since Zzuh.com is both pronounceable and brandable it wouldn't be worth more.

Same here. I'm (very) slowly getting used to it.

Nice name! I have seen very mixed results with Sedo lately. The last name I auctioned off there gave me a poor result, despite me having promoted it on several forums and directly to end-users. On the other hand, Sedo seems to show strong sales at the moment...

By the way, how do you start an auction at Sedo without having received an offer? Just a matter of contacting support and asking them to list it?

Looks very good for my MMCP

Especially because "C" and "P" are much more premium than "F" and "G".

Yeah I saw it.. Crazy. :(

That's exactly why I'm afraid of starting any no reserve auctions on Sedo. I guess I'll hold it for a while, as I'll only be disappointed..

Tbh, I wouldn't auction off such an extraordinary name.

Thanks for helping me decide. I'll keep it for a while longer then. :)
