Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

I'd say 5-15 (LLLL.com drops) per day is average
I have often wondered what happens to all those overvalued domains that nobody bids on at Snap. Got to be >100 LLLL.coms per day. Specifically, I wonder if they are quietly stashing them in their own warehouse.

Of course I could just copy some of them and then check Whois in a few days .... but conspiracy theories are more engaging.

The U is slightly throwing me on a full acronym. It would probably be more successful as a branded word, like Ubuntu.

Average sale prices on eBay during December were very slightly up on November's prices. Here's an analysis of trends over the past 12 months. As always, I've excluded domains selling for more than $100 as I consider them outliers on eBay. All averages below are based on trendlines calculated from weekly figures, so smoothing out irregularities.

Over the past 12 months mean prices fell at an average rate of about $0.42 a month, a total of $5.02 over the period. The trend showed a drop from $16.83 to $11.82, which is a drop of 35% based on the midpoint.

Over the past 6 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $1.92 a month.

Over the past 3 months mean prices rose at an average rate of about $3.78 a month.

Monthly means were -

January $21.41
February $20.13
March $17.47
April $14.83
May $13.39
June $8.57
July $8.61
August $9.09
September $11.98
October $10.59
November $18.03
December $18.12

Average remaining registration fell slightly over the 12-month period. This fall accounts for about 5 cents of the monthly price drop, bringing the effective price drop down to about $0.37 a month.

Average domain quality rose slightly over the 12-month period. This rise adds about 7 cents to the monthly price drop, bringing the effective price drop back up to about $0.44 a month.

Here are the percentile trends for the 12-month period -

The 5th percentile fell from $6.69 to $0.72, a drop of 161% based on the midpoint.

The 25th percentile fell from $9.16 to $4.47, a drop of 69% based on the midpoint.

The 50th percentile fell from $13.58 to $7.78, a drop of 54% based on the midpoint.

The 75th percentile fell from $21.39 to $12.77, a drop of 50% based on the midpoint.

The 95th percentile rose from $38.26 to $43.87, an increase of 14% based on the midpoint.

The price rise from November to December was almost negligible, but that's hardly surprising following such a big rise from October to November.

Thanks Ian. So January will be very exciting, as then we can compare 2009 January prices with 2010 January prices, I suppose the difference will be very small.

Thanks again for the hard work, Ian. I've been tallying all eBay LLLL sales each day since the 1st of January and submitting them to llllsales.com. I can save them for you if you want.

I hadn't noticed you'd been submitting to llllsales.com again. I can retrieve the data from the website - thanks for doing that Daniel.

There were 40 or 50 triple premium plus U's on snap Saturday.
Many had a R, L or H plus two better letters. Prices were nearly all between $22 - $31.

I think they went rather cheaply, many people consider U to be the second best semi-premium after W.

I recently sold a few around the $25 range, that seems the level, personally i like the U domains, i see these sell for higher at namejet though, but everything sells higher at namejet, so that's probably not a good comparison.

gihu/./com $562.00 1/6/2010 NameJet (Im the Winner)
gihu/./com $602.00 1/14/2009 NameJet

Why anyone will drop a domain which has been won for $602 Without paying the $8 renewal fee?
Is there any copyright problems?
Or namejet keeping domains when the winning bidder doesnt pay?

after everything we discussed and all stats we showed on this and other thread, reading that some people use the term "premium letters" makes me sick.

Plus U & W are more often used than others such B...

Letter frequency in several [email protected]

there was another link that showed past sales of LLLL containing U or W averaging better prices than others so, I`m really sick of hearing the term "premium" or "not premium".

All letters are good, depending on which language , they can be more used or less used.
