Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

You are right Dragon, we see so much endless debate about the absolute minimum price for garbage LLLL, but we don't have a system regarding top end sales, even if we did, we would be accused of "pumping" the niche, quite sad really.

When I started this thread, I felt we as domainers missed an understanding on how to price these kind of domains and therefore having an updated sales thread in my view was useful.

But what has come clear in this difficult 2009 (very difficult for me), is that despite everything the demand is there and does not take long to have again prices of a year ago once economic conditions improve.

Everyone has (I hope) his own startegy and arguing over a price if is right or not is silly.

The market makes the price for everything, its demand and offer, if it works for Gold, it works for LLLL.com as well. One day your gold can worth $1200 an ounce and the next month it can be worth $900.

But, if you think that next month gold goes up to $1,200 or $1500 then you buy at $900, that`s it.

If I see value in some domains , I sell at the price I feel is right, regardeless of what people say. If I`m desperate for the money then I have to meet market prices and sell at "bid" price.

How much would you price UNET.com ? according to all the BS we read about premium letters, some people came up with appraisal from 3 to mid 4 figures, yet it sold for $100,000. The Buyer apparently wanted it THAT badly.

You can have a domain with the ugliest letters and get a price 10 times better than someone who has one of the best name son the market. Why?

Because this is not a Bible, it`s not a stock market where prices can be mathematically calculated, this is a much more complicated market and given the fact each domain is unique, then it`s always demand and offer and more in details is the buyer making the price.

In my opinion Buyer makes 51 % of the market price. Seller has always less right to say in this because no one can be sure of anything till the price is paid.

What most of us, speculate on, is that some names have proven to have statistically more chances to be sold and to be sold at some price ranges. But that`s our data, our analys on thousands of sales that enables us to come to this conclusion.

Indeed if I go and ask to the UNET.com buyer which domain is more valuable between for example:

PEPE.com and BT.com , I won`t be surprised to hear PEPE.com

I know we can valuate reseller prices and I do know there are outliers out there such as UNET.com but has anyone done a valuation on average end user value?

I don't know how you could do this, with the large amount of variance in prices. As well, I don't know how you would gather the data for this. Any suggestions?

that's impossible IMO.. I think I have dropped about half a dozen or more lower quality LLLL,com's or given 'em away for free or have just posted them up for auction here at NP and I'm sure they will go for a buck or two only.. so there is actually a variation in selling price of these names.. and you know what, you will never find out the exact or avg range because as they always say, domain is worth what end buyer/user will pay for it :D

On first order, you can check buydomain's prices. Since they mostly sell to end-user and have a ton of it, that is a good first order filter.

Happy New Year everyone!

Does anyone know what is the approximate minimum reseller price for CVCV.com with all premium letters at the moment? I am thinking of buying one at high $3,XXX, but not sure if it is too expensive or not.

euroflash : Unfortunately, I think it also depends on, 1) the nature of the premium letters involved, and how pronounceable the CVCV is, whether or not it can be pronounced several ways, or sounds like a more common spelling, 2) if it is a word in another language, 3) the trademark implications if any, and 4) what kinds of sites reside on the lesser extensions. These are just some of the additional considerations (beyond "premium" letters) I would take into account if evaluating a ~$4K domain.

That said, if it is a really nice one, and you think it looks good, sounds good, and is easily brandable, then I would say that for an all premium CVCV with these qualities, even if (at ~$4K) you end up paying slightly more than a good reseller price now, if you are willing to wait for a year or two before cashing in, you will wind up making a good profit on the sale of the domain, developed or not. You might even be able to flip it for chunk of change much sooner. I haven't seen as many quality CVCV on Sedo recently, and they are certainly in demand...

If you want my opinion on the particular domain, feel free to PM me. I promise I will keep your disclosure private, and I won't make any attempt to buy the domain in question.

Good luck~!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I appreciate all of the work you guys put into this thread, and particularly those of you who make regular entries, keeping this thread active and LLLLSales.com updated. If any of you were closer, I'd buy you a New Year's drink of your choice...

Since I can't get you drunk, I have decided to give a week or two of "New Year's" discounts on the domains in my signature (and on my site) to the NamePros members who post here most frequently. I know who you are, and you do too. If you are interested in any of the domains listed, PM me with an offer. I will try to show my gratitude by giving you all good deals.

Have a great night! (31 minutes to go here...)

Thanks a lot for the great input :)

Yes, I agree there are many factors to take into consideration. If it is pronounceable and so on. But I, too, haven't seen too many good ones for sale at a bargain price lately.

Seems catchy LLLL.coms are still very hot and prices could go up even further.

This is a great one. The name of a SonyEricsson mobile phone and apparently popular names in Finland and Japan. But also tricky if SonyEricsson gets aggressive...
