Some time ago, I was doing some research into the lengths of the most popular .com domains on the Internet, I collected the domains in the search results of: Google

I sorted them into lengths and then counted how many in each list... here is my results for the top 183 ".com" domains on Google:

Very cool list, nice work for sure... Shows that the most popular names aren't solely due to the length of the domain name, but mostly the content/ease of access/retainability of the name, etc... :imho:

Interesting research. Average domain length in the list = 7.27. This reinforces the idea that domains less than eight characters long are desirable.
