The language/ translation thread:

I expect theres a lot of domainers like me who use google translate and resources online but unless you are a native speaker of a language its not always possible to know you're nailing the right word in context, or sometimes you translate a sentence with google, and you think is ok, but it may sound like broken 'english' if you get me. Nice to have the 'real' translation, especially for a tagline or something as web translation software inbuilt can usually translate your page ok.

anyway, here is one example, for all you spanish speakers out there.

from google translate i get for dating: data & for date: fecha ??

are these the right translations, ie: for 'date', meeting a girl, it's 'fecha' ? & 'data' for 'dating'??

cheers

use this thread for your queries, theres always someone here who knows and is ready to help

Fecha is "date" like "date of birth" or "date of the party."

Then if you want to "go out" with someone it would be "Salir con <person's name>"

I'm not sure if there is a direct single word for a "date" in Spanish. I speak it some (badly) and study it, I'm just not native. Maybe someone else here who is native can help you out more.
