Do you think that domain name coupons at the various resellers / registrars are here to stay? Or, is there going to be something new that these places offer that make the exsitence of a coupon obsolete?
I'm looking forward to hearing some opinions on this.

There will always be some sort of deals going on. Call it a coupon, promo code, or sale, at least some registrars will continue to have something where you saving $ from their normal retail prices.
Coupons have been around for some time and I don't see why they would be scrapped. I believe they are essential in retaining customer loyalty.
If you are a big player then negociate with the registrar for custom rates so you don't need coupons anymore
Or set up your own registrar. :hehe:
Does anyone know how much each .com actually costs a registrar? Is a place like godaddy actually losing money when you reg a .com domain for less $6?
Having about 200 domains, a dollar saved on each domain makes a difference.
If I'm not wrong registrars pay Verisign $6.00 + $.25 ICANN fee for .com. For .net I believe it's $4.00 + $.25 ICANN fee. Search the forum as the topic was discussed here and then. So yes some registrars are selling at a loss or rely on other services like hosting to make up for losses.
