Well yet again more sales are reported almost daily with domains that have a 4, 0 or combo of both in the domain .

I've said probably too much on the zero topic but wanted to start a thread to post the growing number of domain sales with these 2 supposed pariah numbers that have gotten bad press imo.

According to namebio a slew of domains are selling that have them.

Just saying the list is huge and growing so anytime a prospect says they don't want a 4 or 0 just keep these sales in mind to remind yourself that your domains do have more value than most people think!

I registered few A+BC+BC+BC.com pattern 7Ns with 0s or 4s or both. Was, quite frankly, surprised they were available and was happy so many have herd mentality when following "guidelines". It is one of the easiest patterns available, making it very memorable, and extremely rare with only 1000 possible combinations.

It is only on here were the 0 and 4 are not liked because normally the buyers are selling to resellers again or think only resellers might buy from them. I have only two 6Ns and I get offers but I am yet to sell them .

I posted domains like 5848484.com, 6848484.com, 9848484.com (Power + triple Forever Prosperous), 5545454.com on NP auctions "make an offer" with zero interest here. Oh well, I like them better than a random unmemorable 6N.com without 0&4...

Yes NP buyers seem to be oblivious to the reality of numerics and what is actually selling!

It seems to me that the industry has been a recruitment center for too many arrested development types who spout off the same rhetoric they read in a post with no critical thinking skills.

I was going to post a few domains on NP but I'm done dealing with these types. Greedy, no clue of what the actual values are, basically a waste of time and energy!

I had one say yesterday all my 5n numerics were practically worthless and she wanted only " decent " ones without u guessed it the 0&4 but never said so in her wanted posting.

After directing her to sales with a zero she simply said really I never realized that was the case but no interest in buying still which is fine with me cause she doesn't deserve to own my domains!.

Its the attitude and sheer ignorance of some people I want to address who are inadvertantly helping decrease values of domains by offering squat for them and flipping for a small roi since their rational ius well any profit is good profit.

This isn't the model t we are dealing with here its yours and my inventory values that are being diminished by a fricking zero & 4 that is misinfo being perpetuated by dimwits and ignorance of the industry .

I will NEVER offer to sell to a domainer who posts in the cwanted section simply because they have zero respect for our domains and tyhed actual values they have in today's market!

Way too many people obsess about the numbers. If I talk to my Chinese friends, the most they seem to know is that 8 is good and 4 is bad and if you look at 0 - I think this was a domainer created ideology. However, in practice all it means if you have 4 is that your domain *may* (depending on the configuration of the numbers) appeal to less people in the china market than it would without 4 and how much less is anyones guess but clearly they are selling regardless and always will. It doesn't mean your domain is necessarily without saleability purely for the fact of containing 0 or 4.

At the end of the day, price solves everything....

You guys are talking about this as if it's just NP members.

If you look at NameBio, though, which entirely excludes anything that happens here, 4 does significantly worse across the board. 0 doesn't fair all that much better unless it's at the end.

Case in point I just sold 2 5N on GoDaddy that contain 0's internally. Compare those to other names that are very similar but have no 0 internally and they sold for 1/2 the price or worse.

While I don't think it's the right mentality on the numerics, it is *not* just a NamePros thing from how the stats bare out.

You can't exclude on namebio (that's a shame) so you just have to look back through and take out the names with 0's and 4's to see the difference. But above I pulled out some of the "raw" data for you there. My "4" list is just 4's (no 0's) ... and my "0" list is just 0's (no 4's).

It's a pretty diverse list of venues that excludes NamePros completely and the patterns are pretty clear. Unless you have a KILLER pattern (3-4-5-6), 0's and 4's always sell at a fraction of their non-0, non-4 counterparts.

That doesn't mean they're worthless. It just means they're worth less.

Nope, 8 isn't always great.
If you really go in depth of Chinese numerology you will see in some cases 88 - bad, 888 - bad, 89 - great, 898 - great...
Chinese people who seriously takes the numbers they pay attention on Yin and Yang order and in that case two yang or two yin numbers are bad combo. That of course depend how you read a numbers, for example: 8 and 8 can be 2 x 8 or 8+8 but can be also a one number 88, first combo is bad and second one are great third are the best.
Same case with 0/4 , when 4 is alone than that is a bad number of course but 84 is not number 4 that is number 84 and that number have a great meaning.
78 is great number but 87 is bad and 84 is way better than 87.
In Chinese numerology everything is about combos and that is the only reason why we see on NameBio some (for us) strange sales.

I'm sorry, but if you can't see a clear and present pattern there in pricing, there's just no hope.

No argument: The right pattern and absolutely: who cares about the 0/4. But random strings of numbers with a 0/4 side by side with a random string WITHOUT 0/4... I mean it's totally clear.

One thing that is also sorta obvious from both the 4N and 5N lists is that people are far more likely to dump out of their 0/4 numbers than those without. Only 4 out of 11 4N in 2016 were CHIPs while out of those last 100 5N, only 17 of them are true CHIPs. The other 83 have 0, 4 or both! Huge discrepancy there, but that might have something to do with the notion of selling from the bottom of your portfolio (something that's been discussed on various threads here at the crazy NamePros).

Again... Can't say it enough:
Not worthless.
Just worth less.

For the record, I hold more with 0/4 than I do without. I would *love* for this stigma to just go away. Absolutely. I have 6 4N with 0/4 and I have 4 without.

I've also got 43200/com and 54300/com from handreg'ing back in the day...
and ask me if I care they've got 0's and 4's?

That's not the point. The point is still a random string with 0/4 will fair far worse at any domain sales venue than it's counterpart that doesn't.

I don't think Chinese mind 0 per se, but it is less desirable in the beginning as it is kind of redundant there. 02357 is pretty much longer way of writing 2357.

If there are 2 zeros in the beginning and then 2 or 3 digits that could be phone code for a whole country and that would be worth a lot, imho. Like 0049 could stand for Germany, 0086 for China. I wonder if China got first 44 as Country Code and protested saying we need it to be something with 8 accompanied with 2,3,6 or 9 )))
