I never saw ya.com either, but I know Spanish is the future for me and a lot of domains in general. Even in my regular day job and in life I see it crystal clear. I don't usually invest in Spanish domains (I'm really being ignorant by not doing it), but I should really start making more Spanish sites than English sites. The truth is I'm educated in English and my Spanish (although it is my first language) was taught from home.

By the way does anyone else have a problem with FireFox when they try putting up accent signs? On my computer it always jumps to the google toolbar and I have to copy and paste it from there.

Actually my Spanish is pretty crap. I've been in Venezuela for six years and I know what most things are in Spanish but my grammar is diabolical.

I heard that Latin Novelas are so popular with the Latin community in Estado Unido that they are now filming many in Miami.

"Los canales mas grandes en español." - Funny, one of my best .com domains is MegaContruciones.com My partner accidently registered it with 'Two' spelling mistakes!!! (I didn't know he was dislexic, I now handle the registrations). Mega Construcciones is a Nat Geo. programme.

Even though I have over 500 one word generic Premium .com.ve domains my best performing .com.ve domains are two word examples of things like TV programmes, stores and famous quotes and sayings. Also Musica and Video domains.

According to Alexa, the top 2 music related sites visitors wise in Spanish are lacuerda.net and www.Planetadeletras.com , the firts been a tabs website, and the second a lyrics website. And for the top 10 general you can check their list here http://www.alexa.com/browse?&CategoryID=471 , but as you can see, top 10 are mostly spanish versions of big English portals (hotmail, google, msn, etc.) .
And according to clickdiario.com , 4 of every 10 hispanics who use the internet visit their network. Domains of clickdiario include mujer.com (woman) deportes.com (sports), salud.com (health), mascotas.com (pets) so very good one word, generic domains. Hope it helps.

I am Spanish (from Spain, obviously).

"ya.com" is a generic portal (and a DSL/dial-up ISP). It's well known, but it's not the Spanish-website-flagship at all.

If you want to know about some of the most important websites in Spain, just specify the subject (news, technology, generic big portals, fashion, vehicles, sports, etc.)
