The best way?

I have recently registered my first three domains. They are currently parked at Sedo. I am wondering what steps people take to increase traffic to their sites. I have submitted my url's to the major search engines. I read on this board about people developing their sites, but am confused if you have to pay to have someone host those sites. I have also heard of Affiliate programs.
Anyway, if someone could give me a step-by-step tutorial on increasing traffic, I'd appreciate it.

Well there is free hosting but they for the most part are bad. Paid hosting is best. I have an eBook that might help you on increasing your traffic, I can send it to you assuming you don't redistribute it. There are tons of ways to increase traffic. Basicially submitting your site to major search engines is best but also don't forget about the small ones. Those can be helpful too, and are almost always free. Banner exchanges might work decentally. Basicially any kind of advirtising. Make your site look nice and have decent content, thats another important thing, even if you can get people to your site no one will come back if it's crap.

If you develop a page, and park it at, say sedo, how do you get the clicks? Do you just add advertiser links to your page or is there another way. I want to develop a couple of my domains to generate traffic & then park them.

If you park it at Sedo etc .... They place the ads for you - but this is not considered Development -

Developing a domain pretty much means placing Content / Links on a web page Yourself -

When you "Park" a domain .... You are pretty much selling your traffic to the Parking Company ~

When you park your domains at Sedo, you only need to change the nameservers of your domains. You don't need to pay for hosting. Sedo will place the ads. And you earn a few cents for clicks. A few other places you might consider parking your domains is Afternic.com & DomainHop.com. The latter looks interesting because they also pay you for unique visitors to your site, not just for clicks.

If you decide to get your own webhost, then you would pay hosting fees. Also, that usually means you would have to develop your domain or in other words create your own website. It can even be a single-page website, if you like.

To get listed in search engines, simply submitting the URLs will usually not help much. Search engine optimization is a whole science by itself. :gl:
Basically you focus on one or 2 suitable keywords in your particular niche to rank well for. So when people search for those terms, hopefully your page appears among the top displayed results.

If you have some money to spend for advertsing, then you have several good options you could consider to drive traffic to your site. Google ads, for instance.
