Technical question with domain

It's been a couple of days I'm monitoring a site that was in the PENDING DELETE status. It dropped today, and playing with my account in godaddy a few times a day trying to catch the domain, receiving of course the message that the domain wasn't available. Suddenly it allowed me to register it (the name is great specially for the hispanic comunity in USA and around the world).
I always check at: http://www.internic.net/whois.html and at: http://registrar.verisign-grs.com/whois/ to check when they update usually twice a day in the morning and in the evening their whois database to see if the domain was dropped.

My question is: I registered the domain at 7:00 PM the internic database updated at 8:00 PM and the status of the domains is still PENDING DELETE with the ENOM registrar (that was the former).

Anyhow I tried just playing to register it in other registrars and I couldn't succeed.

Any body knows how long does it takes to see the domain under my name in internic???

In the Godaddy whois it already appears under my name.
I also registered the same domain but with .net. (that wasn't registered before), in all the registrars now it appears taken ( so nobody can take it from me), but again in internic it appears to be free.

As I'm new in this industry of domain names do I don't have to trust the whois of internic???

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!

24 hours. If GoDaddy is where you registered it, that is the first whois db you should check.

Congrats suprgml!

Godaddy is usually pretty straight forward with things like this. I did experience one blip with them however.

I was mining for names and I found that 'ceramics.info' had become available. I rushed to godaddy and sure enough, they registered it.

I was excited till about an half-hour later they sent me an email claiming that the name was registered erroneously :(

Other than that experience I can usually have confidence that if it is available through goddady for registration then it is available.
