Personally I would never use registerfly. I have had many problems with them. As many of the people I know and deal with, but to each his own. About "shills" for Registerfly ( I rather call them mouth pieces) on namepros - Well that is painfully obvious.

I believe he meant insiders, employees, or owners of registerfly posting as users when he referred to "shills".

Yeah, I think you are right Mark.

Since it's obvious to you, could you please point them out? (for those of us who are not aware)

Thanks.

Thanks.

Let's just say from my own personal experience I know of two. One praises Registerfly any chance he gets. Even disparaging other people in the effort. The other one once told me I shouldn't bring up Registerfly's problems on a public board.....Yeah Right. If you DB like them keep using them . I never will again. Goodluck.

Personaly I have never used Regfly so I have no comment on their service but they can not be anywhere near as bad as aplus.net....now that is a horrible company.

I refuse to use RegisterFly.com anymore due to one issue that still angers me. A domain was featured on a television show so I rushed to RegisterFly.com minutes later to see if it was available. It was, so I quickly sent in a registration order. However, my Paypal payment didnt process for an hour and order didnt even show up on my screen... And domain was still available so I ordered again via Credit Card.

But nope still domain doesnt register, morning comes around and the domain not only has been registered elsewhere, but I paid for two domains and yet only one failed domain had cash credited to my account so yay like $8 or so lost.

Obviously not the only issue, but this is cahoots with their horrible level 1 staff. I'm fine with their service outside of that. But support & billing are poor.

I have many years of experience with RegFly....means nothing
I have a name that expires in May 2005 that has already been released back in August & re-registered by a major domain buyer...
I have all of the documentation showing I have the name until May 2005....It has been over 3 months that I have been assured I will get my name back & still nothing....
As far as phone support goes they couldn't be less interested in your issues...it's like you are cutting into their valuable time.
I have been a RegFly customer for many years, since their inception & I have reg'd hundreds of names with them & referred many clients to their services...not any more...I feel I am only being paid lip service regarding this loss of domain situation which is VERY important to me.
Most companies strive to maintain loyal customers...it appears this is no longer a goal with this company. All they are hoping is that they can get all new customers to transfer your names to them for $6 & hope you will stay....best of luck to those who do...
I still have about 150 names with them but I have begun to transfer them away...
all of the domains that I have transfered so far are still showing in my accounts & I am getting renewal notices for them...They have been gone for months now...Also many names that I have allowed to expire still appear in the Expired Names in my account, even though some have been reg'd by someone else at another registry! (And yes I have used the refresh account function). I must admit that this makes me a little nervous as I am not sure who is managing their database.
So the mass transfer out continues.....
They have lost my loyalty. I can remember some time back being about the only positive/defending voice they had on this forum...Someone else can wave that flag now...
Hard to believe how badly this company has digressed.

Good Luck to those who fall for the $6 transfer in trap..
(By the way I never did get my name back after 4 months of reassurances...)
Lesson learned...

Jim

I must admit, it's interesting how diverse the opinions and experiences with them are. Normally, I would apply the same old reasoning that is true for so many other similar scenarios...

"any company with a large customer base is going to have some unhappy clients"

"the minority of unhappy people screaming just attract more attention than the majority of happy customers who are silent and go unnoticed."

But I'm not completely immune to the screams, and I don't practice the art of burying my head in the sand, so even though my experiences with RegisterFly have been positive, I will certainly take note of these negative comments from other users.

RF site isn't opera compatible and even under IE I find the interface rather crappy. In general they are fine but not that special. I have not had any negative comments on them.
