Hi, this is my first post.
I need domain name, but it is unvaiable with ourname.com
Hence i think to add :

1) ourname-Technology.com (or without "-")
2) ourname-tech.com (or without "-")
3) ourname-tec.com (or without "-")
4) ourname-tek.com (or without "-")

It is for electronic equipment and private customer
Im european, and I dont know how they "sound"...and what is the best for people's memory

( I read previous posts, but they are old....)
Thanks

In my opinion...

It depends on how long your company name is. In other words, if your name is Sleek, then SleekTechnology sounds like a good name. But if it's SleekandFastTechnology then that might be a little long.

I would definitely go without the "-" in it though. If you have a long name, then I would go with Tech at the end without the "-".

Honestly, if you're serious about business at all, buy yourname.com.

Will say this when it comes to company names...
LENGTH does NOT matter!
Look around you....
How many businesses have very long domain names.

If you can not get your company name?
And it is an electronics company?
Why do you want to use technology?
companytanmeelectronics.com is good

Not only electronic equipments, we produce equipments ( made with carbon fiber or alloy ) that inside have some electronics.
For now, NO core business....we produce idea... after the maket say us what is our business.
Some example:
drone vehicle or parts for it.

what do you think when you read domain with "labs" ?

thanks

I think of a laboratory. But it can work for other things also, like an electronics laboratory. It is kind of tech-ish.

Labs, is a company where produce high technology vehicle, or where repair ?

Ive trouble to express my concept... my poor english
in other words, where space shuttle was build in [name]labs, or in [name]technology ?

Thanks

Sorry but I don't get what you mean. But if you are an "ideas" company, then labs would work well.

If you have to represent the place where to produce a spaceship, would you prefer [name]labs.com or [name]technology.com ?

Thanks

[name]labs.com sounds good and techy to me!

First, are [name].com and [name]tech.com fully developed sites or are they parked / for sale?
If they are parked, did you try to contact the owners and check what price they would sell? You can start offering some mid $xxx and be prepared to go till low/mid $x,xxx
IMHO, that's a wise step if you want to launch a serious business on the top of [name].

Second, if there price is too high, I would consider [name]labs.com or [name]technologies.com for that order.
In these case and in my opinion, the plural sounds better and more corporate. Although I would defensively register also the singular version.

Third, if [name] ends in 'L' or 'T', try to use a second word that do not start with that same letter.

Also you should check if there are no TM conflicts on using those names, namely what trademarks already exist using [name].

I wouldn't care much. Either would be ok. Also bulga makes a good point about Technologies, rather than the singular.
