All you do is login to your TDNAM account & it will tell you the date it will become yours. There are no guarantees but good chance it is yours on that date.

The registrant has time to renew the name.

If that's the case, then you'll be refunded in full.

GoDaddy auctions domains off before they actually own them, you buy them and pay for them and hope that the original owner doesn't decide to renew after all, if that happens you will get a refund. If a domain does not get bids, it is allowed to drop to the open market.

Btw, Go-Daddy are very "anti domain kiting" :)

I believe the names are expired and the original owners have to pay the inflated Redeption Period renewal fee. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought GD charged $80 for renewals in the RGP.

I just won the auction for XLS.us at TDNAM and within 2 days of the auction end, I received notification that the original owner reclaimed his domain. Bummer, I liked that acronym alot. :td:

I guess there is some grace period when the names expires. After 1 month or so the name would enter redemption status and then it's expensive to recover the name. I believe GD charge $80, other registrars charge twice as much or even $200. GD is not the worst registrar in this regard.

but with the tdnam set up then, names dont go into redemption and pending delete etc as within 2 weeks of expiry ownership goes to any bidder

anywyas just gonna hope the names appear in my account, if not its not the end of the world

It is a very nerve-racking time, waiting for two weeks for a domain to arrive. Thank god, I have received all of the domains that I have won at TDNAM without the owners renewing. Each time I am just waiting for a failure notice.
