I can't believe this, I had 7 backorders today, TampaHomes.net had the highest NW bid out of them all, and I placed the backorder 15 minutes before drop, yet the other 6 I had for 4 days, and none of them had a NW bid above $125.

Your opinions please.

Excellent name for a Tampa real estate company Sid. I live in Tampa and have TampaHomes.org. I would contact Tampa brokers with inferior names and look for $300-$500 for it.

By the way, do you mean you got 7 names today or tried for 7 and got just that one?

I tried for 7 and only recieved this one. The other 6 I had backordered for 4 days, and this one I placed a backorder on it 15 minutes before drop. Kinda wierd, it was just a prayer, since I had an open spot and nobody had a BO on it.

Thanx Doc and Duke

And last time I checked the NW bid on it was $212 for tampahomes.net

I also picked up homesinpalmcoast.com this morning, but only for the traffic.

$155 - $175+, IMHO ... though working it as Duke has suggested could really boost your chances. Enlighten them as to WHY they could use this specific domain (even in the .NET) versus what they may be currently using. That is your task, and potential reward ($$), as welll!
Best of Luck here, Sid. :)

I noticed LasVegasHomes.net went for over $500 today on NW! I don't get it - Tampa is a much nicer place to live! :D

I agree with you regarding Tampa vs. Las Vegas, Duke. Also, I'm becoming more and more perplexed with some of the bids at Namewinner of late, as well. I can't put my finger on it ... but a lot of 'em just seem "off". If you can shed any light before I pull all of my hair out, I'd be greatly appreciative.

I agree, yesterday I had a list of names that I input in bulk just to see if they had NW bids on them, all of them didn't have bids, but then when I decided to bid $8.75 on two of them, both had bids of over $50. and this was at 10am my time 2 hours before they stop the bidding, so I don't think people had sniped each other like that within 2 minutes.

The search numbers on this name leave a bit to be desired.

I think on a name like this the search numbers are not that important. The value lies in how memorable the name is (the market itself is very limited - to just one city of course). However if you are a real estate agent in Tampa and you are showing prospects homes (and want them to remember your web address) or placing the huge newspaper ads that all of the brokers place, having a name like that is extremely valuable. It is the definitive term for what you are selling. The commission from one home sale is $7,000 or more so $500 for a name like this that will serve you from now on is nothing.
