:hi:
Within the past year, I've noticed a huge number of companies with marketing campaigns that use a tag-line or slogan with a .com or .org attached. For example, the recent ads for WeCanSolveIt.org SaveTheInternet.com, and the countless (do this action) .com ad campaigns for familiar products (nothing good comes to mind right away). Of course, most of these (at least the .coms) are parts of larger organizations, but there have been a few companies that I've seen that use a phrase with a .com attached as their company website.
What does this mean for the domaining community? I'm sure generic names will always have value because of the number of type-ins they bring along, but there seems to be a noticeable increase of "take action" or "marketing tag-line" .com and .org names taken. Am I just crazy? What are your thoughts?
