Tables resize while page is loading

For some reason when a visitor opens the following page the contents of the main table are stretched across the width of the screen and then collapse to the correct size.

I assumed that this was because the main table width was not fixed but it is.

could anyone advise as to why this might be happeneing?

This is simply how tables load... that's why you should stop using tables.

Many of the cells and images don't have their dimensions (W & H) attributes. Also, you have mixed attributes measurments.

Yep, set the width and height of the images and you'll be good

OR switch to CSS design... If you insist on using tables, it's much easier to control width with style sheets...
