Personal comments:
I bought this website sometime in January this year from someone on the DNF website who had purchased this site from the first owner and creator. My original intention was to work on the site, hire content writers and develop further link relationships with major gaming content aggregation sites. Due to a huge amount of school workload as I am in my 3rd year of university studies now, I left the site on the backburner until around a month ago. As a matter, my negligence was such that the ads on the site have left unchanged and the site is still showing the previous owner’s ads…This explains why I am unable to state the exact monthly revenue till date, hence I put in “N/A” for the revenue details above. Also, I have not installed the webalizer or any tracking tracking program to track the site traffic but from what I know, the site received around 400 unique visitors on December last year. Based on a rough approximation, I think it is safe and fair to estimate the site traffic at around 100-200 unique visitors daily.
I need to raise funds for university studies and as such, I am willing to let go of this quality gaming site at a loss to any lucky buyer. I have talked to the creator (first owner) of this site before and he told me the site used to get 10 to 11 games (average MSRP $49.99) from game publishers, not to mention invitations to attend various industry events and functions. Also, it has received media passes to attend E3 in 2005 and had a great relationship with publishers and developers. At the current moment, this site might not offers much in terms of monthly revenue, but it has a custom CMS backend system, plenty of unique articles and article aggregation capability which is very unique. This allows the site to draw review articles from major gaming sites and then average the ratings for individual games to come up with an overall rating. Clearly, the site’s value lies in the backend system, name branding and articles (content).
I am a reasonable person who understands buyers want value for their site purchases. Thus, the price I have set is very reasonable. To start things off, I am hoping to get at least $1k for this site. BIN price will be at $3k. I am willing to entertain any offers and the price is definitely negotiable. $1k asking price for such a site with a robust backend system is, in my opinion, very reasonable. As I understand from the creator of this site when I talked to him back then, the total development cost for this site amounted to around $6-7k when it was first created so my asking price is a huge bargain.
