I am seriously contemplating to make a swap offer of my PPCAd.com for i4.com.

Anybody think that it is a good idea?

PPCAd = Pay Per Click Advertising. Multi-billion dollar industry and still growing exponentially. Highly brandable.

Actually, it is a little risky...

Last month, I bought about $50 of Adwords advertisement using keywords such as "ppc advertising", "pay per click" and "pay per click advertising". The ad copy reads something like ...PPCAd.com Is For Sale. Minimum Offer $15,000, etc.

The ad ran about 3 days and I had 6 enquiries! I stopped the ad after the 3rd day and decided to auction it next month. I was also thinking of emailing all the PPC companies to see if they are interested and if they are, the bidding will be hot, IMHO. PPCAd.com can go very high if luck is on my side..

BUT, I simply love the domain i4.com. Dang...I am in a dilemma.

The name is generic enough so that you'll be fine so long as you don't develop a site directly related to an existing product-specific TM on the name - there are many uses for i4, in many industries and they don't conflict. I would do this deal hands down.

Did the owner of i4.com make a swap offer for your PPCAd.com? If so, I'd take that offer in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong, PPCAd.com is a valuable name, I just feel i4.com (pronounced like "eye for") is much more liquid and brandable. It has a nice web 2.0 feel to it.

If it's the other way around (you offering PPCAd.com for i4.com), I would guess that the owner of i4.com would reject your swap offer. Looks like the owner is here on NP (SDX) and previously received mid $xx,xxx offer on it. Good luck!

Rereading that after Fish's post, it does indeed look like holdem8 would be making that offer...if that's the case, I don't think you need to lose any sleep over it, I'll bet some bucks that the offer will be rejected outright.

Yea...I was thinking of putting in the offer but now I don't think I would want to.
I could not really tell whether it will be a good decision but now that I know, I won't be wasting my time.

I guess I will just have to auction off PPCAd.com and offer other better domains for i4.com.

While I don't think your offer will be accepted, you shouldn't just assume it wouldn't be. You have absolutely nothing to lose while making an offer. The worst that can happen is a rejection. If you get rejected, at least you know you tried instead of facing a "what if" scenario.

i4.com that is a great name. "Eye for"... Art? ... Dating? ... House Buying? Easier to develop than PPCad.com for me anyway.

I've seen i4.com in the signature of one of the member of this community. I think the name is SDK (i'm not 100% certain but i think it belong to SDK)
